The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, and the Emir of Bichi in Kano state, Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero, have lost their father-in-law, Abubakar Imam Galadanchi.

The public relations officer of the Sultanate Council, Aminu Haliru, confirmed the unfortunate development, on Saturday. According to Haliru, the revered monarch, the Sultan and the Emir of Bichi were married to the deceased daughters.

An Ustādh, Saheed Rasaq, on Monday, June 26, said Prophet Muhammad and other messengers of Allah (God) never killed in retaliation for alleged blasphemy during their time despite insults from his critics.

Speaking to Legit.ng, Ustādh Rasaq said Prophet Muhammad instead "exhibited the highest standard of patience".

The Lagos-based religious teacher made the clarification in a chat with Legit.ng while reacting to the killing of Usman Buda, a butcher in Sokoto state, over an alleged blasphemous statement.
