The Director, Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Michael Achimugu, has revealed that an aeroplane bound for Spain was forced to return to Nigeria because of a passenger suffering from diarrhoea.
According to him, the passenger messed up the aircraft, forcing others to endure discomfort.
He said the mess was so much that it took about five hours to clean the aircraft.
Achimugu wrote, "A Delta airline flight had to return two hours into a flight to Spain because of a passenger suffering a nasty case of diarrhoea and messing up the aircraft and forcing other passengers to endure severe discomfort. It took cleaning crews about 5 hours to clean and disinfect the aircraft, including changing an aisle rug that was badly messed up.
"After an 8-hour delay, the flight safely operated, flying all passengers, including the one with diarrhoea.

Reacting, an X user, @UmarsDaughter, said, "I wonder why people eat like gluttons before boarding a flight. Also, people who consume so much food on board then pester the hostesses for more food/drinks- on a LONG flight. What do you think you are doing? A little bit of self-control matters. Also, airplane toilet is gross!"
@flasheko84 said, "I once vomited inside a plane. Drank alcohol before boarding so I could sleep well. Con see how oyinbo air hostess begin pack my vomit for floor. With gloves and tissue. Shame catch me."
