A Nigerian guy who was a part of a fraud syndicate in Ghana has said he had no idea he would engage in fraudulent operations when he was offered a job in Ghana.

In a documentary by MyNigeria TV and GhanaWeb TV, the ex-fraudster identified as Austin claims he was invited to Ghana for a job through his friend.

According to him, he was elated that he found a job that pays more than what he receives in Nigeria as it would allow him support his family.

His excitement immediately ended when he arrived in Ghana and discovered that the job they had previously informed him about wasn't what he had come to do.

Austin stated that because he knew very little about the work assigned to him, it was very difficult for him to do it.

However, after he settled in and began earning enormous sums of money, he started enjoying the business for awhile.

He recounted a time he broke a rule by withholding money he got from a Senegalese client from his "chairman" and as a result, he was flogged with a PC wire and matchette.

Austin claimed that he was forced to flee for his life due to the agony that the fraud business had for him.

He said: "I escaped, I jumped fence because I had to run for my life. I don't have to wait for them to arrest me or until they kill me".
