How musician predicted 20 years ago that Tinubu will become president

Over 20 years ago, the late Fuji musician, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, predicted that President Bola Tinubu would one day become the President of Nigeria.

Barrister gave the prophecy while performing at an event that had Tinubu dancing, as seen in a video.

Tinubu was seen wearing an agbada attire and his signature cap, while surrounded by colleagues on stage dancing to Barrister's music.

The musician himself could be heard saying, "President tomorrow, may you enjoy your reign."

Today, Tinubu is President, but unfortunately, Barrister didn't live to see his prophecy come to pass.

Born Sikiru Ololade Ayinde Balogun on February 9, 1948, the legend pleased many generations with Fuji music until his death on December 16, 2010. He's better known by his stage names Ayinde Barrister and Barry Wonder. He was a Nigerian-born Yoruba singer-songwriter, music performer and producer.

Barrister is regarded as a pioneer of Fuji and Wéré music. After his first break into music in 1965, Ayinde Barrister went on to release over 70 studio albums. In 2024, the first episode of The Fuji Documentary, titled "Mr. Fuji: Barry Wonder," which chronicles his life and career, was released by director and producer Saheed Aderinto.
