The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) has given update regarding a salvage operation involving a Mack trailer tanker, registration number RBC 98 XK, fully laden with 45,000 litres of diesel.

The incident occurred at the Apapa Oshodi Expressway, Liverpool Bridge, Tin Can Island, Apapa, Lagos, where the tanker reportedly lost control while in motion, skidded off the bridgeway and hanging in the balance of the rail, while spilled part of its contents onto the bridge and underneath and into the adjoining drainage channel.

The situation was brought under control, with all imminent danger completely averted.

As part of the emergency response, transloading of the remaining diesel was safely carried out, and the scene was secured against further interference by scoopers. Following the successful.
