The emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the president-elect has generated mixed reactions from Ghanaians on social media.

Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner after winning 30 per cent of the total vote cast.

His main rival Atiku Abubakar polled 29%, and Labour's Peter Obi 25%. Their parties had earlier dismissed the poll as a sham, and demanded a rerun.

The former Lagos governor won most states in the southwest, his home region where is considered a political godfather.

He campaigned for the presidency under the slogan: "It's my turn".

Tinubu's victory hasn't been widely accepted by Nigerians per observation on social media.
