A former US lawmaker, Mike Arnold, has revealed that ex-presidential candidate Reno Omokri set him up by instructing him to post a negative review of Hero Beer.

Hero Beer is one of the achievements of the administration of a former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi.

In recent times, Omokri and Obi have had a fallout, which is why Arnold believes Omokri set him up to review the beer.

He shared on social media, "That's it! My first 'taste' of fame in Nigeria. BTW Reno set me up -- he encouraged me to review the beer, and didn't tell me the political implications! He did not let me know that he was going to blast it out like he did, either. In fact, I asked him to take it down -- he took it off one platform but left it on others!

"Oh well. You'd never imagine how many guys offered to buy me a beer after that -- and how many holier-than-thou legalists suddenly thought I was a degenerate sinner."

MyNigeria recently reported that Arnold exposed Omokri, stating that a video of the expensive cars the former presidential aide once shared on social media and claimed to own were actually not his, but those of friends.

Omokri is yet to respond to the claim made by Arnold, a one-time associate.
