Veteran actress and one of the actresses in the Nigerian movie industry who has spent over 30 years on stage, Rose Odika has shared an experience of how another veteran in the industry, Dele Odule saved her acting career when it was about to end abruptly many years ago.

She shared this experience while introducing Dele Odule to her guests at the celebration to mark her 32 years on stage, which was held recently in Jogor center, Ibadan. According to the current TAMPAN governor in Oyo state, if not for the intervention of Dele Odule, she wouldn’t be where she was.

“When I got married to my ex-husband and I was overwhelmed by love, my ex-husband convinced me to leave acting to focus on my marriage, because he was bothered that I would have too many admirers in the industry and he wasn’t cool with that. I agreed to quit acting because I was in love.

“After some years, when the lovey-dovey was over, I just realized I needed to go back to my passion. So Chief Dele Odule was the one who came into the picture to talk to my ex-husband on my behalf, he did the magic and he allowed me to go back to acting. If Chief Dele Odule didn’t intervene then, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” she said.

Also present at the event were veteran actor Akin Lewis, Peju Ogumola, Yomi Fash Lanso, Foluke Daramola, Damola Olatunji, Owolabi Ajasa, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, Toyosi Adesanya, Laide Bakare, as well as friends and fans of Rose Odika.
