Hopes dashed as Supreme Court delivers judgment on Bayelsa governorship election

Legal actions challenging the election of the Bayelsa state governor, Douye Diri, and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo have been dismissed by the Supreme Court.

The apex court delivered the judgment on the suits on Wednesday, November 18, Channels TV reported.

The suit against Governor Diri was filed by the Accord Party (AP).

The case challenging the eligibility of the deputy's election was an appeal filed by the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP), and the Labour Movement (LM)
