Popular TV host, Rufai Oseni has opined that the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah is still more popular than Femi Adesina, a former spokesperson for ex-President Muhammadu Buhari

Mr. Oseni made the comment when he shared his thoughts following Adesina's attack on Bishop Kukah.

The popular cleric while delivering a keynote address at the 60th call-to-bar anniversary of legal luminary, Aare Afe Babalola, in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State criticized President Buhari for leading a corrupt government.

The cleric said although corruption did not begin under Buhari, his administration amplified it in the eight years he was President.

Kukah said, “We have seen the worst phase of corruption in Nigeria, Femi Falana, my friend here, will speak about that because he has published a series of articles talking about what happened under the Buhari administration.

“They were not the ones who caused corruption but I think in the last administration, we saw the ugliest phase of corruption whether in moral terms, financial terms and other terms.”

Femi responded in a tweet saying, “Who listens to that Bishop again? He’s still pained that he got no under-the-cassock patronage from Buhari, unlike in the past. As e dey pain them, e dey sweet us."

Responding on the What's Trending segment of the Arise Morning show on Wednesday, July 12, Rufai backed Bishop Kukah's comment while noting that "Kukah has been a voice in this country for over thirty years and his voice is louder than Mr Femi Adesina's voice."

he said: "Everything Bishop said was correct, there was accelerated development in Daura because of President Buhari. A lot was done and a lot of people kicked against it when it happened. And for Mr. Femi Adesina that said do people still listen to Bishop Kukah, hell yea!"

"Kukah has been a voice in this country for over thirty years and his voice is louder than Mr Femi Adesina's voice obviously and let us not deceive ourselves.

However, ex-Senior Special Assistant to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, declined to react to Kukah’s comment.

Shehu told the Punch that he was not in a position to speak on the matter as it concerned the Buhari administration as a whole and not the person of the ex-President.
