Normalcy returned to Kano on Saturday.

The purported planned protest by both the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) did not hold.
There was the presence of security personnel in some strategic places in the state.

Kano residents were seen moving freely and transacting their businesses without fear.

None of the parties came out for the procession as planned. The Nigerian police and other sister security agencies saved the day, it was learned.

Joint security operatives, including the army, police, civil defence, vigilante, and other security personnel had to man major locations in the state capital to ensure no riot broke out.

The Nation learned that traders who went out for early morning business activities, as early as 6 am, were turned back by fierce-looking security operatives, a situation that forced them to leave.

But later in the day, most markets, like Abubakar Rimi, Yankura, Naibawa, Yankaba, and other markets later opened for smooth business activities.
