Hearing of Governorship appeal for six states slated Jan. 14

The hearing of the appeals for the governorship elections held in Imo, Bauchi, Sokoto, Kano, Plateau and Benue States will hold tomorrow, January 14th 2020.

This was announced by Justice Ibrahim Mohammed who postponed the hearing meant to hold today till tomorrow, due to a few issues which included a crowded courtroom, and a member of the panel falling sick.

Due to the massive crowd and noise level in the courtroom, Justice Mohammed advised counsels representing parties not to exceed five lawyers but permitted parties involved in the case to witness the proceedings.

However, politicians who belonged to neither parties in the appeals were asked to leave.

Though the hearing was postponed till tomorrow, Mohammed revealed that the ailing member of their panel was being attended to.

Meanwhile, the governors returned elected by the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the six states are Emeka Ihedioha (Imo), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Simon Lalong (Plateau), and Samuel Ortom (Benue).
