'He would be fantastic for Liverpool' - Osimhen touted as perfect replacement for Salah

Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol believes Victor Osimhen will be a great signing for the Reds should Mohammed Salah leave the club in the future.

Salah has been outstanding since joining the Reds from AS Roma in 2017 winning the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League top scorer award twice.

Nicol, who featured as a right back for the Reds from 1981–1994 with over 343 appearances believes the Egyptian's time at Anfield is coming to end and Osimhen will be a perfect replacement for the 31-year-old.

"The fact that Salah is leaving, whether this year or next year, Osimhen? I think he would be fantastic for Liverpool. In the middle of the park, we’ve just signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai; Endo’s turned out to be incredible - you need someone who will run all day and give it to Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, and Salah."

Osimhen has widely been linked with a move to the Premier League with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal rumored as likely destinations.

The 25-year-old is the reigning African Player of the Year following his outstanding season with Napoli last season where he guided the Baples-based club to their first Scudetto title in 33 years.
