Fulham defender Calvin Bassey has picked Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen as a better striker than Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
Bassey, who is an international teammate of Osimhen, described the Super Eagles star as an incredible striker.
The former Ajax defender also described Osimhen’s failed move to the Premier League as a bittersweet moment for him.
“Osimhen is better than Haaland, so he’s more difficult. Sorry, Haaland,” Bassey said, as quoted by Habersarikirmizi.
“Osimhen is incredible. What he has done for his country, what he has achieved in the Champions League, it’s truly incredible. He’s a lethal striker.
“I was happy and sad at the same time that he didn’t come to the Premier League. I think it would have been good for him. But yes, I’m glad I didn’t have to play against him.
“But he’s at a very big club now and he’s doing great things… doing incredible things,” he said.
Bassey, however, had recently described Erling Haaland as a strong striker after coming up against the Norwegian in Manchester City’s thrilling 5–4 win over Fulham in the Premier League.
