Calvin Bassey has hailed his Ajax teammate Kudus Mohammed for his outstanding performance at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The 22-year-old was adjudged the man of the match after inspiring the Black Stars of Ghana to a hard-earned 3-2 win over South Korea at the Education City Stadium on Monday, November 28.

The highly rated Ghanaian youngster hit a brace to keep Ghana's hopes alive after they suffered a 3-2 defeat against Portugal in their group opener.

He also assisted Ghana's first goal in the tournament after teeing up captain Andre Ayew to level matters after Ronaldo had given the Portuguese the lead from the spot.

After his latest man-of-the-match performance against South Korea, Bassey was full of praise for his club teammate.

"Star boy. He is on fire. Good player. He deserves it." Bassey said in a short video clip posted by Ajax on Twitter.

Ghana will take on Uruguay in their final group game on Friday, December 2.
