Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has recently been applauded after offering his seat to the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi during an event.

In a video circulating, Obasanjo during his speech went to Peter Obi who was seated at table nine, held him by the hand and ushered him to his seat where he asked him to sit down.

The dramatic scene brought about laughter and applause from the guests present at the event organised to celebrate the national award given to the President of the African Export-Import Bank, Prof. Benedict Oramah.

As he went to pick the former Anambra State governor from his former seat, Obasanjo said, “In the presence of Nigerians”.

After leading Obi to table one, were he was seated, he declared, “My job is done”.

Although the former president is yet to announce his preferred candidate ahead of the 2023 election, Obasanjo and the Labour Party flagbearer has been involved in a series of closed-door meetings with the former president.

The question on many lips is whether or not he has endorsed Peter Obi as his choice of candidate ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
