Residents of the Federal Capital Territory reportedly stormed and looted a warehouse belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria (NEMA).

According to SaharaReporters the warehouse which is located in Karimo, Phase 3 in Abuja was raided on Sunday morning.

It was gathered that the residents carted away with foodstuffs and other items.
The Nigeria Police have deployed personnel to the area to disperse the looters and secure the building.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, noted that the situation has been brought under control.

She said; "The situation is now under control”.

This incident occurred following the hardship that has engulfed the country as a result of the fuel subsidy removal and the devaluation of the naira.

Many Nigerians have been lamenting hardship following the removal of fuel subsidy and the devaluation of the naira.
