The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike appealed to the Rivers State youths to engage in dialogue with him.

This comes after the protesters took to the streets to rally against bad governance, hunger and hardship in the country.

Wike, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, told protesters that he is ready to listen to them and resolve their grievances.

He made this statement while presenting the staff of office to four newly appointed chiefs in the country’s capital.

The minister commended protesters in the FCT for not being violent, urging them to continue to resist those who want to destroy the nation.

According to Wike, Abuja as the nation’s capital remains a precious asset to the country, adding that if the FCT is destroyed, it will have negative consequences on the entire country.
