Reno Omokri, a political commentator and prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has praised Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for signing two major agreements with Chinese firms to enhance transportation and energy development in the state.
It has been revealed that the Chinese firm China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has committed to constructing the Lekki-Epe Link Bridge and has also signed an agreement to establish a 50-megawatt solar power system to meet the energy needs of tertiary institutions in the state.
In a post on his social media page, Omokri commended the Lagos State government for taking necessary steps to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians and also applauded the governments of Ondo and Akwa Ibom for their efforts.
He took the opportunity to criticize Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo for not prioritizing the development of the state but instead participating in the popular "Gwo, Gwo, Gwo, Ngwo" dance change.
He wrote: "Today, Lagos signed a contract with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation to build the Lekki-Epe Bridge. This is the same Lagos that just finished the Red Line, already has a Blue Line, and is about to start a Green Line. The same Lagos that they asked you to invest in at your own peril"
"Akwa-Ibom has built its state-owned Ibom Deep Sea Port and has one of the most profitable airlines in Africa, Ibom Air, which flies out of its state-owned airport."
"Ondo is building its own $1 billion state-owned port and has reduced poverty faster than any state in Nigeria, according to the National Bureau of Statistics."
"So, I ask you again, Other than dancing Gwo, Gwo, Gwo, Ngwo, what has your own state Governor achieved?"
A video has emerged of Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, taking part in the viral “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” challenge.
Recall that Charles Soludo was seen singing and performing the viral dance “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo”. The governor was joined by some of his aides in delivering the viral challenge.
The song “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” was originally sung by 90-year-old musician Gentleman Mike Ejeagha
His 1983 record 'Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche' gained significant attention in 2024 after comedian and skit maker Brain Jotter featured it in a viral video.
Brain Jotter’s video garnered millions of views across social media platforms, with users recreating the popular dance moves.
