The Malumfashi Development Association has expressed its heartfelt condolences to the families of victims killed during the recent bandits’ attack at Gidan Mantau in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
In a statement made available to The PUNCH on Saturday, MADA Chairman, Mallam Salisu Bawa, conveyed the Association’s sympathies to the affected community.
“We express our heartfelt condolences over the loss of lives and pray for the quick recovery of those injured during the attack,” Bawa said.
Condemning the attack in strong terms, he urged the Federal Government to deploy additional security personnel to the troubled areas to prevent further killings of innocent citizens.
Describing the assault on worshippers during the Subhi prayers as “wicked and inhuman,” Bawa called on security agencies to intensify their efforts and adopt proactive rather than reactive measures to combat the bandits.
“We call on security agencies to adopt proactive strategies. We also urge communities to remain vigilant and cooperate fully with security operatives to end this inhuman display by the bandits,” he added.
The MADA chairman acknowledged the combined efforts of both Federal and State security agencies but urged them to redouble their efforts and adopt new strategies to prevent further attacks.
The Association also commended the military for rescuing 76 kidnapped victims from the notorious Pauwa Hills in Kankara Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
“We commend the military for their successful rescue of the 76 kidnapped victims today, which is a great feat,” the statement read.
Bawa further praised neighbouring communities and the Chairman of Malumfashi Local Government for their swift response in providing immediate relief to the victims of the deadly attack.
