Dismissed police officers, Kareem Fatai and Jimoh Lukmon who went viral for extorting money from a Dutch tourist in Oyo state has said the government failed to pay them salaries for over 3 years of working for the country.

According to them the depend on money gotten from their daily patrol to feed their families.

The two dismissed officers revealed this in an interview shared on social media on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Recall that the Oyo State Police Command dismissed the two special constables caught in a viral video demanding money from a Netherland tourist, Noraly Schoenmaker along the Iseyin-Oyo road who was heading to Abuja.

In a recent interview, the two ex-constables expressed their disappointment at the turn of events.

They noted that they were both joking with the tourist when they asked her what she brought and that they were not extorting money from her.

They also mentioned that they never stopped her but the tourist herself stopped when she saw them.

Narrating how they felt when they were dismissed and disgraced by the Police command after three years of service to the country, the ex-officers said they wept like a baby as they were stripped off their uniform.
