A video of Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, dancing before giving his victory speech following his re-election has generated several reactions on social media.

The video was posted by popular blogger Tunde Ednut on Monday, November 10.

In the clip, Soludo was seen in high spirits as he walked to the podium alongside his wife.

Despite the controversy surrounding his victory, he has since been congratulated by President Bola Tinubu, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the just-concluded Anambra State governorship election, Jude Ezenwafor.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the winner of the November 8 governorship election in the state.

Governor Soludo, according to results from the 21 local government areas of the state, won in all the local governments, defeating 15 other candidates to secure his second term in office.

He polled a total of 422,644 votes to beat all challengers in a landslide victory, with his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polling 99,445 votes.

Anambra State, the home of former Biafran leader Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has remained loyal to the party the late leader founded during his lifetime and reaffirmed that loyalty by choosing Charles Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office.

The final result was announced by the Returning Officer for the election, Professor Edoba Bright Omoregie, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
