The Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, says he would resign from office if Rotimi Amaechi can mention any federal project he has attracted to Rivers since 2015 when he (Amaechi) became the minister of transportation.

The governor made the statement on Saturday, May 22, in Port Harcourt, when he welcomed some chieftains All Progressives Congress (APC) who defected the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Vanguard reported.

Wike in a statement issued through his spokesperson, Kelvin Ebiri, accused Amaechi of embezzling millions of dollars from the sales of the state aircraft and power stations when he was a governor.

The Rivers governor stated that when he served as the minister of state for education under the President Goodluck Jonathan administration, he attracted several projects to Rivers state.

Wike challenged to use his position as minister in reviving the moribund Port Harcourt seaports in order to create employment opportunities for Rivers’ youths.
