Governor Seyi Makinde wins his polling unit

The Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party has reportedly won his polling unit Ward 11, PU01, Abayomi Iwo-Road in Ibadan north LGA.

Earlier, Seyi Makinde who was in the company of his wife, exercised their franchise around 11am.

He was said to have scored 174, while the All Progressives Congress polled 28 and the Labour Party had 03 votes respectively.

During the voting process, Makinde urged residents to come out and cast their votes in the governorship and state assembly election.

He also charged the security agencies to ensure the safety of the residents in the various polling units in the state.

Makinde said, “This is not just an election, it is a democracy. It is an entrenchment of the government by the people and for the people.

“Until this morning, we are engaging with the security agencies. The security in place is holding up… I encourage people to come out and exercise their franchise. There is still time till 4 pm to vote.”
