Gov Lalong reacts as gunmen kill ten in Plateau

Governor Simon Lalong Governor Simon Lalong

Governor Simon Lalong has commiserated with the families of the ten people who were killed in an attack in Kwatas village in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Gunmen had on Sunday stormed the village which is where Rt Hon. Titus Slams, a former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, hails from, and left ten people dead.

Reacting to the news, Lalong issued a statement on Monday through the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Macham.

He stated that the perpetrators are only trying to take the state back to the dark days as he promised to bring them to book.

“My heart again bleeds by this tragedy as lives of innocent citizens are cut short for no reason. Security agencies must go after those who are behind these attacks and their sponsors so they can face the law and be taught a lesson.

“We do not need another circle of bloodshed in Plateau State as all well-meaning citizens have committed to peaceful coexistence and tolerance.

“My administration will not allow anyone, no matter how highly placed to jeopardise this peace,” NAN quoted him as saying.
