Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has slammed those urging him to join an electoral advocacy campaign, saying "gone are the days we laboured for politicians to enjoy".

This was as he slammed all those who love to blackmail the masses by telling them that they will benefit if their efforts end up making the country better.

According to him, any politician interested in an electoral advocacy campaign should lead such a campaign.

Adeyanju shared on X, 'Some people kept disturbing me to join partisan folks to do electoral advocacy campaign if I am serious with Nigeria.

"Any politician that is serious about defeating Tinubu and APC should lead the electoral advocacy with his full chest and stop disguising. Gone are the days we laboured for politicians to enjoy.

"The blackmail that we will all benefit if the country is good is no longer good enough. It is the politicians that benefit not us.

"For many years, we actively participated in electoral advocacy without a single support from any politician, did we complain or ask why many didn’t join us? It’s now your turn, oya rescue the country from Tinubu.

"After all, didn’t you all say we are controlled opposition? You that is not controlled, please save the country."
