The Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, has taken to social media to announced that his phone was stolen while receiving his Certificate of Return at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

According to Orji Kalu, the cell phone stolen by a yet-to-be-identified person contained both his MTN and Glo lines.

He also cautioned the public to beware of any illicit activity involving his cell phone.

Kalu wrote; “This is to notify the general public to beware of any illicit activity involving my cell phone and numbers. During the collection of Certificate of Return at International Conference Centre Abuja, my cell phone with MTN and Glo lines were stolen by a yet-to-be-identified person(s). My network providers have been duly informed. Please don’t hesitate to provide any useful information”.

Reacting to the Governor's announcement on his Facebook page on Thursday, March 9, some Nigerians advised Orji Kalu to seek redress from the court with regards to his stolen phone.

The advice by Nigerians mimics the response given to aggrieved presidential candidates who were told to "go to court" if they do not agree with the 2023 presidential election results.
