Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo has urged his Super Eagles teammate, Victor Osimhen, to snub Europe and consider a move to Saudi Arabia.
Osimhen’s future remains uncertain after Napoli rejected Galatasaray’s €75m offer for him.
The Turkish champions are keen on securing the Super Eagles striker on a permanent deal following his exceptional campaign with the club last season.
The 26-year-old netted 37 goals in 41 competitive appearances for the Yellow and Reds, guiding them to two domestic titles.
Osimhen has already rejected several lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League, insisting on staying in Europe.
Ighalo, however, believes the former African Footballer of the Year should go for the Saudi money and later return to Europe because he is still young.
“My advice to Victor Osimhen is to go to Saudi Arabia for two years to make money. Then he should come back to Europe,” Ighalo said in a chat with the Echo Room.
“I went to China to play for three years, then I went back to Europe to play for Manchester United. All odds were stacked against me then—I was 30 years old at the time.
“Victor Osimhen is 26 years old. In two years, he will be 28. He can still play in Europe for five years if he wants.”
