Ilo Ikenna Valentine, President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Ghana chapter has called on Ghanaians to desist from the widespread perception that Nigerians are bad.

Ikenna, who hails from Enugu State while highlighting some of the challenges faced by Nigerian students in Ghana explained that one major problem is the bad perception most Ghanaians hold about Nigerians.

He added that even some Nigerian Landlords in Ghana have the same negative perception of their fellow countrymen.

The president made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with host Novieku Babatunde Adeola on MyNigeriaTV on the current state of affairs of Nigerian students in Ghana.

Highlighting one major problem he would want to change about the Nigerian student's situation in Ghana, he said:

“That perception that Nigerians are bad is spreading day by day. You know I've met a lot of Nigerians, and we're not what we're being portrayed to be but then we have a whole lot of numbers and there is no way someone will not see a Judas in every job.

“So, we're a few people spoiling the name of Nigeria and then they say all Nigerians are like that. I've always lived my life in Ghana to change that perception. Anywhere I go, I try to let people understand that Nigerians are not like that. I demonstrate this through my actions- the way a treat people, the way I behave with people. My best friend here in is a Ghanaian and we have never had that issue.”
