A Ghanaian national, Aishetu Adams, has been busted by officials from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for running a factory that produces herbal medicines.
The factory produces herbal concoctions for STDs, cough, blood pressure and every other infection.
The agency flagged their NAFDAC number in a previous intelligence-led enforcement action and found it belonged to a discontinued cough syrup.
A NAFDAC investigative team conducted surveillance and subsequently discovered three variants of Asheitu Adams Bitters bearing NAFDAC Registration Number A7-1827L.
Verification through NAFDAC’s NAPAMS portal revealed that the registration number belongs to Greentol Cough Syrup, confirming its fraudulent use on the herbal products. The company’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer was absent during the operation, while the company manager was arrested for further interrogation.
More details as the story progresses.
