Ghana joins four other African countries to qualify for 2026 World Cup

Ghana joined the other African countries that booked their spot at the 2026 World Cup.

This follows a shaky one-goal victory against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12.

The victory means the Black Stars top Group I with 25 points, 6 points ahead of Madagascar, while Mali finished third.

As has become the norm, Tottenham Hotspur winger, Mohammed Kudus, scored the decisive goal in the second half of the match.

They will now be making their fifth appearance at the World Cup, after featuring in the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2022 editions.

Other African nations that have qualified for the 2026 edition include Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria.

Qualification for the expanded 48-nation 2026 tournament, which the United States, Canada and Mexico will co-host, justified the faith of Ghanaian officials in coach Otto Addo, who was under fire last year.
