Ghana-based businessman Igbasan joins Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council

Ghana-based businessman and youth leader, Hon. Olatunde Gideon Igbasan, has been inaugurated as a member of the Youth Mobilisation Directorate of Nigeria’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu/All Progressives Congress (PBAT/APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

The inauguration took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, placing the Director-General of the APC Youth Network West Africa within the campaign structure ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general election.

Popularly known as Tula Mania, Igbasan is also President of Sewia Mining Ltd, a Ghana-based precious-metals business. His activities span private-sector enterprise, youth organisation and humanitarian initiatives in Nigeria and other parts of West Africa.

His leadership of the APC Youth Network West Africa has focused on youth mobilisation, grassroots engagement, student welfare and community support. The network maintains operational structures in Nigeria, Ghana, Lomé in Togo and Côte d’Ivoire.

One of its major humanitarian initiatives is a weekly Friday food outreach at its National Secretariat in Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos. According to information provided by the organisation, the programme reaches more than 1,000 people and young people with meals and food items.

The initiative forms part of the network’s community-support activities, aimed at assisting vulnerable people and providing practical relief to beneficiaries. Its regular implementation has also become a platform for community engagement at the organisation’s Lagos headquarters.

Igbasan has also supported student development through engagements with Nigerian student organisations in Ghana and initiatives intended to promote education, welfare and access to opportunities.

In one such commitment, he donated ₦15 million towards student development, comprising ₦10 million for the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Nigeria and ₦5 million for NANS in Ghana. The commitment followed an engagement involving student leaders and Sewia Mining Ltd in Accra.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for student representatives to gain exposure to the precious-metals industry, including aspects of gold processing and refining.

His business interests in Ghana and leadership of a regional youth organisation have positioned him to engage with student communities and youth leaders across national borders.

Meanwhile, the APC Youth Network West Africa is scheduled to inaugurate its National Secretariat in Agidingbi, Ikeja, on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The event is expected to bring together members and invited stakeholders as the organisation continues to develop its operational structures and coordinate its activities across the subregion.

Igbasan’s inauguration into the presidential campaign council comes as the APC prepares for the 2027 election. His responsibilities within the Youth Mobilisation Directorate will form part of the party’s wider campaign structure, while he continues to lead the network’s regional activities.

The development also brings renewed attention to the links between his work in Ghana, his engagement with Nigerian students and his leadership of an organisation with activities across West Africa.
