Salihu Yakasi, an aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has described as insult a cartoon depicting the crisis rocking the State over the Kano Emirate.

The cartoon which was published by Daily Trust shows Ganduje in a cage named Kano while Muhammadu Sanusi II who was dethroned as Emir of Kano on Monday was leaving.

Describing the cartoon as a mockery and insult, Yakasi stated that Kano is not a cage.

He added that the cartoon belittles the state which has “a thousand year old history” which has “produced great leaders and scholars”.

“I see this as a mockery & insult to the entire ppl of Kano. Kano is NOT a cage, its a state with a thousand year old history, that has engaged in trade & commerce with the entire world for centuries, that has produced great leaders & scholars, Kano will continue to be GREAT ISA,” Yakasi wrote on Twitter.
