Amidst ongoing disputes between Nigerian authorities and Dangote Refinery, Gabon’s President has invited Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, to explore investment opportunities in Gabon’s cement and fertiliser sectors.

This announcement was shared by the Dangote Group on its social media platform, accompanied by a photo of Dangote and Gabonese President Brice Oligui Nguema.

The post stated, "President/CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, (left) was in Gabon at the invitation of President Brice Oligui Nguema (right) to explore investment opportunities in Cement and Fertiliser (Urea and Phosphate)."

Dangote has been in conflict with Nigerian authorities over the operation of the Dangote refinery.

The CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, accused Dangote of attempting to monopolise the oil market and claimed that his products were inferior to imported diesel.

In response, Dangote argued that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) had acquired a blending plant in Malta and issued fake certificates for the importation of poor-quality diesel.
