Fulani leaders (Ardos) recently acknowledged President Bola Tinub’s effort in restoring the country amid the hardship.

The leaders noted that they endorsed his presidential candidacy and voted for him in the 2023 general elections because they believe in his mandate.

During the quarterly Fulbe United for Peace and Development National and Zonal Leadership Consultative Meeting in Abuja on Monday, April 15, 2024, they reminded Tinubu of the campaign promises he made to the Fulani community.

The president of the association, Ardo Aliyu Liman Bobboyi, was of the view that President Tinubu was conferred with the title of Barkindo of Nigerian Ardo during the endorsement which was a way of sealing the ‘Fulaaku covenant’ with him.

The South West coordinator of the association, who is the Ardo Abeokuta, Muhammad Kabir Labar, faulted the ban of grazing around Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, saying the government is yet to make provision for an alternative measure for herders.

“It is expected of every person that wants to take over or ban to call stakeholders and discuss the way forward.

“Our business has to be somewhere and the other businesses need to be somewhere. We have all agreed to that. Let’s be considerate with ourselves and discuss the way forward. We don’t call for conflict. We are peace-loving Nigerians, and we have been contributing to the development of this country right from day one,” he said.
