MACBAN, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, has distanced itself from a Fulani Jihadist group's threat to attack Delta State.

The gang had previously issued a 72-hour ultimatum to Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to revoke the open grazing ban or face an attack, according to Naija News.

According to Usman Baba-Ngelzerma, the Secretary-General of MACBAN, such a declaration by nameless individuals is solely aimed to cause havoc.

He said that MACBAN is a reputable organization with prominent figures such as the Sultan of Sokoto as patrons and that it will never do anything to jeopardize the country's peace.

Baba-Ngelzerma also distanced MACBAN from a 72-hour deadline given to Delta state to change its open grazing rules.

The MACBAN chief stated that the organization's attitude on open grazing had not changed.

He encouraged the Northern Governors to ensure the recovery of all grazing routes across the country, noting that Fulani herders have the same rights as all Nigerians and should not be regarded as second-class citizens.

In a similar event, the state's Fulani leadership has distanced itself from the alleged letter endangering the state's security.

The state's leaders, Alhaji Abubakar Haruna, the Fulani Coordinator Delta State, Useni Haruna, the Sarki of Asaba, the Chairman, Miyetti Allah in the state, Musa Mohammed, stated on Monday in Asaba that they were not part of the threat.
