In the exerpt, Wike speaks on the situation with Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike: Look, Fubara said I am ready for peace, I will no longer seek a second tenure before the President and the Assembly withdrew the impeachment. Imagine, before the President of a country, now having withdrawn the impeachment, you are now too smart, on what you agreed before the President?

Reporter: Is it him or people want him to return?

Wike: Oh please, please, This is what I don't like, please, nobody wants anybody to return.

Reporter: People have picked up form for Fubara?

Wike: Please, please, he can go and tell that to market women or to children below 2 years that people say he should come out. Who told you that? Every politician will say I was sleeping, they came to wake me, we are politicians, even if they come to wake you up to say go and contest, can't you tell them no, I will not do that. Who are the people? That you appear before the President of a country, on arbitration, and these people have done their own part and you say you don't want to obey your own part again.

Reporter: That means that was the agreement?

Wike: Yes, that was the agreement, why all this grammar now.

Reporter: Then why is the President not intervening?

Wike: Hold on, why is it that you people always reduce the Office of the President? You quarrel with your wife, you call the President. You quarrel with your son, the President should intervene. One thing you people don't understand, in running for elections, nobody can stop your from running for election. It's your choice but people are coming to know whom you are. Who are the people?

Reporter: The people of Rivers State?

Wike: Where were the people when he was almost gone? Where were they when the State of Emergency was declared? I can sit here and get 3000 people to do rally. If APC do rally here, you will see people, the same faces in PDP rally, the same faces in ADC rally so who are the people? They say they will do primaries, just wait. Just wait.
