Former Golden Eaglets star Ibrahim Babangida dies at 47

Ex-Golden Eaglets star, Ibrahim Babangida is dead. He died in an auto crash on Thursday, May 9.

The accident is reported to have occured on the Kaduna-Zaria road.

Several reports indicate Babangida’s brother, Tijani, his wife, son, and housekeeper were also involved in the accident.

Tijani, an ex-player is the President of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria.

A statement by the General Secretary of the association, Emmanuel Babayaro, confirmed Babangida’s death in the crash.

According to reports, Tijani and his family are responding to treatment.
