Focus on ministerial role, not Rivers State - Wike told

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike

The Founder of TAF Africa, Jake Epelle has urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike to focus on his task in the President Bola Tinubu administration and leave the people of Rivers State alone.

Epelle appealed to the Minister on Tuesday, December 8, in an interview on Channel Television's Morning Brief.

He was reacting to the ongoing political tension in Rivers, stressing that Wike is not the godfather of politics in the state.

“There is no godfatherism in democracy. Godfatherism is an introduction of Nigerians and African political ideology. It will not work for heaven’s sake. Wike is not the godfather of politics in Rivers State. He should focus on his ministerial position and leave Rivers State and its people alone.

“You cannot hold the Rivers people by their jugular and think that whatever you say must happen, and whatever you didn’t say must not happen. It’s not going to happen.

“There is going to be a rising of people of peace, who are resolute, who are resilient, that will stand up and keep speaking truth to power.

“Let him stay as FCT minister and stay there and do whatever he needs to do in Abuja and leave Rivers State and its people alone.”
