Several residents have lamented the flood situation in Lagos State. This comes following the heavy downpour in various part of the country.

As the rainy season continues, residents have been faced with floods, preventing many from going about their daily rounds.

Speaking to the press, residents complain about the challenges they face with the flooding situation.

Recall that the Federal Emergency Management Authority warned that some states will experience strong winds and could likely likely cause displacements of people and isolated cases of damage to weak structures.

The FEMA Director General, Dr Abbas Idriss, said the agency’s Search and Rescue teams had been placed on high alert and warned residents to “exercise caution during heavy rains and to avoid driving in a pool of water.

He also urged residents to clear blocked drains and to avoid building on water channels, while assuring them of the commitment of the agency to the protection of lives and property and also urged the use of the 112 toll-free number in the event of an emergency.
