The Super Eagles of Nigeria will begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers campaign later today (Friday, September 25) when they host Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The three-time African champions will be looking to put the disappointment of missing out on two consecutive FIFA World Cup tournaments behind them as they return to competitive action in the AFCON qualifiers.

The game is scheduled to kick-off at 5:00 pm local time.

Nigeria secured their first-ever win over Madagascar in Benin City in the return fixture of that same qualifying campaign.

The Super Eagles secured another 2-0 win over Madagascar in the return fixture at Stade Mahamasina, Antananarivo. Skipper Joseph Yobo and Obinna Nsofor scored the two goals for the Eagles.

Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria (2019)

Madagascar recorded their first-ever win over Nigeria during the 2019 AFCON in Egypt. The Indian Ocean islanders secured a 2-0 victory against Gernot Rohr's side in a game that sent shockwaves across the continent. Madagascar went on to finish as group winners ahead of the 2013 African champions.
