Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tochi Okechukwu has cautioned young women against rushing into early marriage and motherhood, warning that premature domestic responsibilities can derail personal ambitions and long-term career prospects.

Sharing his perspective in a post on his official Instagram page, the reality TV star reaffirmed his firm stance against early marriage, emphasizing that young women need adequate time for self-discovery and personal development before taking on family obligations.

"I have always been an advocate against early marriage in women," Tochi wrote. "When a young woman is pushed into marriage and having babies too early, her dreams usually have to take a back seat."

Tochi illustrated his point by highlighting how societal pressure can reduce a woman's individual identity to merely her husband's status.

"A girl who could have grown up to become a doctor, a successful businesswoman, or a leader ends up having her entire life reduced to just being known as 'the wife of Chima Solar Enterprise,'" he stated.

While clarifying that he views marriage as a positive milestone, Tochi stressed that "timing matters" above all.

He advised young women to focus on completing their education, acquiring professional skills, and achieving financial independence before settling down.
