Fayemi calls for better remuneration for judges

The Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi has called for better remuneration for Judges.

According to him, only the best should be given to the judiciary and its workers.

He made the statement yesterday, June 19, at the Special Thanksgiving Mass in honour of the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Bolna’an Dongban-Mensem in Plateau State.

Dr Fayemi described Justice Dongban-Mensem as a woman of substance and integrity, who has demonstrated a sense of value, morality and principles in all of her judicial dealing.

A statement by Special Assistant to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Kelvin Ebiri, noted that other governors present at the event were Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Simon Lalong (Plateau) and Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, while the Governors of Benue, Ondo and Bauchi sent representatives.
