Demola Olarewaju, an aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has said Senator Francis Fadahunsi should be kept under house arrest until the Osun State governorship election is over.
MyNigeria reported that Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East at the Senate, called on his supporters to kill Accord Party members in Osun.
Following a heavy backlash, the lawmaker granted a TV interview, where he made a U-turn, saying he only told his supporters to kill Accord Party with votes.
Reacting, Atiku's aide said, "That Fadahunsi is still going to the TV station instead of the police station is confirmation of federal compromise.
"The laughable AI claims is an insult to our collective intelligence and I wish he would be bold enough to double down on his evil directives to his APC thugs.
"Fadahunsi should at least be kept under house arrest for the duration of the rest of campaigns in Osun until a winner is announced - to be forewarned is to be forearmed.
"The blatant preferential treatment for APC by the federal police is unacceptable by any democratic standard.
"Bola Tinubu’s “all is fair in politics” statement has laid the foundation for extreme actions by APC persons with Osun as the first experiment and Fadahunsi as the first APC chieftain caught on camera acting accordingly.
"He should be arrested and prosecuted immediately."
