FRSC decorates 170 Special Marshals

As part of efforts geared towards the creation and sustainability of a safe and secure society in Nigeria, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, has inducted and decorated about 170 of like-minded and intellectual people from different professionals as members of the state’s Special Marshals.

Their decoration was to consolidate on the existing strategies on continuously making the highways safer for the users.

The Special Marshals Unit of the FRSC are people of proven integrity, saddled with the responsibility of administering road safety standards and other relevant measures aimed at ensuring orderliness on Nigerian roads.

Speaking at the event, the state’s Sector Commander CC Ahmed Umar, said Special Marshals partnership forms part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives towards ensuring the safety of lives and property consequently engendering national growth and development.

According to the Sector Commander, the task of establishing and maintaining a safe and secure environment is a continuous duty that demands collective responsibility.

In his welcoming address, the State Coordinator of the Special Marshals, Elder Emmanuel Fagbenro, while congratulating the newly inducted members, explained that the kits were given them “are not ceremonial dresses. They are to be used for the benefit of achieving minimization of road traffic crashes”.
