FG set to sack incompetent civil servants, gives reasons

Head of the Civil Service (HoS) of the federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan has said there will be purged of incompetent hands in the civil service as the government devices new strategies that will attract and bring qualified persons into the civil service.

This was made known at the April edition of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR)’s lunch-time reform seminar on Thursday, April 29, in Abuja.

Yemi-Esan was represented by the permanent secretary, service policies and strategies office, Emmanuel Meribole.

According to her, the civil service was no longer a welfare institution where all manners of people were recruited to check the unemployment crisis in the country.

The HoS noted that the civil service was consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adding that it would address economic, social, and environmental sustainability issues, reports

The director-general, BPSR, Dasuki Arabi, argued that the public service, post-COVID-19, needed to support the implementation and adoption of the federal government’s e-government master-plan.
