FG reacts to killing of 25-year-old Nigerian student in Northern Cyprus

Abike Dabiri-Erewa has lamented the many killings of Nigerians in Northern Cyprus.

The chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission says she received a petition from Justice Amina Bello, whose son was killed in the European country.

The deceased identified as Ibrahim Khaleel Bello was a third year civil engineering student of Girne American University in Girne (Kyrenia).

The chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has said she received a petition from Justice Amina Bello, whose son Ibrahim was killed in Northern Cyprus.

The deceased was a third year civil engineering student of Girne American University in Girne (Kyrenia).

Abike Dabiri-Erewa lamented the killings of many Nigerian students in the European country.

She tweeted: "Too many Nigerian students have died mysteriously in Northern Cyprus, a country not recognized by the UN. Only recognized by Turkey."



The NIDCOM chairman said the matter is already with the Interpol, adding that the federal government will not relent until it gets answers for the many killings of Nigerians and other black students in Northern Cyprus.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that ex-Big Brother Naija housemate Khafi Kareem has lost her brother Alexander Kareem who was gunned down close to their family house in London.

Alexander was shot dead close to his family home in Shepherd’s Bush, West London.

He was said to be walking home from a convenience store in the early hours of Monday morning, June 8, before he was shot dead.

A friend told The Sun: “His family is distraught. Alex wouldn’t talk down to anyone – he was friends with everybody.

“They are all good people. His sister Khafi spreads positivity through her YouTube account. She wakes up and prays for people at 7.30 every morning."

In other news, Sunday Shodipe, a suspected serial killer in Ibadan, has finally opened up on how he escaped from the police custody hours after he was rearrested by the Oyo state police command.

Shodipe was apprehended by the police on Sunday, August 23, weeks after his controversial escape from the watch of the police.

The 19-year-old serial killer was nabbed following the marching order given by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state and the inspector general of police Mohammed Adamu mandating the force to recapture the fugitive killer.
