FG reacts as NDDC scholarship students are forced to eat expired food in the UK

The Federal Government has said that it is seeing to the report that some Nigerian students who are in the UK on the scholarship of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, are being forced to eat expired food.

A certain Sadiq Cyrus brought the attention of Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), to the development.

He revealed that the students are also made to work in COVID-19 hotspots as a means of survival.

"Our students on NDDC scholarships in the Uk are eating expired food and forced to work in covid hotspots to survive. Please use your handle and influence to make @NDDCOnline do the right thing. Thank you", he tweeted.

In response, Abike Dabiri-Erewa revealed that NiDCOM has taken the matter up and written to necessary authorities.

"NiDCOM has taken this up and written formally to Minister Akpabio to implore Nddc to do the right thing . The Minister gave his assurance two weeks ago. We will continue to follow up", she tweeted.
