FG declares Friday, Monday public holiday to mark Easter

Friday 2nd and Monday 5th April 2021, has been declared a public holiday to mark this year's Easter celebration.

This was announced by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on behalf of the federal government.

In the statement signed by the Director (Press & Public Relations) of the Ministry of Interior, Mohammed Manga and issued on March 30, 2021, Aregbesola encouraged Christians to continue to live in peace and love.

He also urged them to emulate the attributes of forbearance, forgiveness, kindness, humility and patience, which were demonstrated by Jesus Christ.

The minister charged Christians to use this occasion to pray for the peace, unity and progress of the country.

Adding that the federal government will continue to develop more strategies to deal with the cancer of kidnapping, armed banditry and various crimes ravaging the peace of the country.

In other news, government has deployed several security personnel at vantage points in the states to protect lives and properties during this Easter break.
