President of Galatasaray, Dursun Özbek, has praised Nigeria international Victor Osimhen, describing him as an extraordinary striker.

Osimhen has been in sensational form for the Turkish champions since joining the club on loan from Napoli in September 2024.

The Nigerian forward scored 37 goals in 41 appearances in his debut season, helping Galatasaray win the Süper Lig title and the Turkish Cup.

The former African Footballer of the Year has continued his impressive performances this season, registering 17 goals and six assists in 25 appearances across all competitions for manager Okan Buruk’s side.

Galatasaray are currently in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League, with Osimhen scoring seven goals in the competition.

Speaking about the Nigerian striker, Özbek said Osimhen is one of the most exciting forwards in the club’s history.

“Among centre-forwards who have come to Galatasaray throughout history, Victor Osimhen is the player who excites me the most after Metin Oktay. Extraordinary.

“We follow Osimhen with admiration even during training. He performs there as if he’s in match tempo. We’re afraid he might get injured.”
